Dave Bova

I’m a professional guitarist and instructor with experience spanning over 20 years. During this time I’ve been performing, recording and tutoring both in Australia and Italy. Upon my arrival in Sydney I have formed the award winning group Medicine Wheel with Luke O'Shea, leading to national recognition, including nomination for best group at Tamworth prestigious Golden Guitar Awards in 2003.

My compositions are the result of my experience as a musician drawing inspiration from different countries and cultures. From working with one of Italy’s most important progressive groups, Eris Pluvia, to appearances with established Australian artists such as Aria Awards Nominee Sara Storer and legendary pop star Jenny Morris. Bills include artists such as James Morrison, Marcia Hines, Renee Geyer, Slava Gregoryan, The Atlantics and The Martinez Brothers amongst many.

Currently writing original compositions for a theatrical project driven predominantly by the sound of the acoustic guitar, incorporating traditional styles like Latin, Flamenco, Celtic and World Music with Jazz Fusion and Progressive Rock elements. Described as “a fierce fusion of modern sounds with years of traditions”, this is music with no barrier holding anything back.
