Allan Holdsworth has emerged over the years as a master of jazz with a rock sound.
His spellbinding solos are marked by unorthodox fingerings and wide-interval melodies, and they're immediately striking as fast, fluid, vibrant, and deadly accurate.
Inspired at early age by saxophone players such as John Coltrane, Allan has recreated the same beautifully haunting tones with extraordinary expressiveness and mastering of the instrument's sonic possibilities.
Central in his approach to music is something "that hasn't been attempted before". As he once quoted, " what I can hear in my
head and what I can play of it are two different things. I haven't achieved it yet, probably never will, but it's the chase that keeps me going, to try."
